How to add an SEO title to a page

What you’ll need: An existing page on your Squarespace 7.1 site

How to add an SEO description:

  1. Click pages on the top of your menu

  2. Hover over the page title you want to add an SEO description to until you see the gear icon appear.

  3. Click on that gear icon to open your page settings menu

  4. Select SEO, your second option

  5. Under SEO Title, add your optimized page title of 100 characters or less

  6. Optional: Add an optimized SEO description below the title

  7. Select Save on the top left-hand side

Important info: This is specific for pages and is slightly different for blog posts, products, and projects. This is also not guaranteed to be the text displayed on a search engine, as search engines use constantly changing algorithms to determine what content to display, but adding this to a page is still considered a best practice.

Pro Tip: Include a keyword or phrase for which you want to rank well. Do NOT throw many keywords in here to spam search engines; keep this readable and related to this page on your site.
